For colonial home sites, Civil War camps, or any ground littered with iron, the HF2 elliptical coil is the strongest choice. It runs at a higher frequency with tighter iron rejection than the round FMF coils, helping you separate a faint ring or button signal from a sea of nails and shrapnel. The 13"x11" FMF coil is built for exactly this. It trades a little sensitivity in trashy ground for serious depth and sweep width, making it the coil most hunters reach for on big farm permissions or open public land where covering ground matters more than tight discrimination. Both the HF2 elliptical and the 13"x11" earn their keep here, depending on your ground. HF2's higher frequency is more sensitive to the tiny, low-conductivity signals fine gold gives off, and its narrower profile is easier to work through mineralized or rocky patches. WS6-ST headphones fold the entire remote control into the headset — the menu, the graphic screen, and every setting live right on your ears. Yes — with any package, including WS6 MASTER. BH-01 headphones are audio-only, so they can't act as the detector's control unit on their own, but the WS6 piece isn't limited to being worn on your ears — it can also be mounted on the stem or your arm, working like a standalone remote. That said, for real depth or submersion, RC-based packages (RC or FULL) are preferred: the RC unit is rated for greater depth and comes with built-in dive-ready sealing, while the WS6 MASTER's control unit would need an aftermarket waterproof case and is still more depth-limited even with one. FULL bundles the remote control and WS6-ST headphones together — XP's most complete out-of-the-box kit. RC gets you just the remote control, so you can choose your own headphones. WS6 MASTER skips the separate remote entirely — the WS6-ST headphones themselves are the control unit, for the lightest setup XP makes. The WS6 piece can also be worn on the stem or arm instead of your ears, working as a standalone remote — which is what lets it pair with BH-01 or other headphones too. On iron-heavy colonial or battlefield ground, the HF2 elliptical is the standout coil. For general coin-and-relic permissions without heavy iron, the 11" FMF is the more versatile pick. Either works well with the FULL package for a complete kit, or RC plus your choice of headphones if you'd rather build it yourself.

For real water work — wading, snorkeling, or shallow diving — the 9" FMF coil is easier to maneuver and sweep underwater than the larger coils. Any package works for diving as long as you have a physical remote to control settings: with FULL or RC, that's the RC unit; with WS6 MASTER, the WS6 piece itself can be worn on the stem or arm as the remote.
