Garrett has released a new, FREE firmware update for each of the three Vortex detector models. In addition to several improvements, the update will resolve the Target ID lockup issue experienced by some users.
Each Vortex model has a specific firmware update, numbered as follows:

Improvements include:

Improved reactivity to resolve the issue of brief ID lock-up caused by scanning from a large surface target directly to another target. This issue was only present in Vortex detectors operating with firmware versions 9.08, 5.01, and 7.01.

Custom Mode enhancement: ability to more fully utilize Custom Mode to create and save a profile of your preferred detection parameters (e.g., frequency, reaction speed, iron volume, bottlecap reject, etc.).
